Six Cotswold School Neville Neal Dining Chairs

Six Cotswold School Neville Neal Dining Chairs

Description

A good quality, set of six (4+2) Cotswold School Arts & Crafts oak ladderback dining chairs, made and stamped by the maker Neville Neal in the 1960’s.

The chairs were designed by Ernest Gimson in the late 1800’s. Neville Neal was apprenticed to Gimson’s chairmaker Edward Gardiner in the 1930’s, and on Gardiner’s death in 1958, Neville Neal set up his own workshop to continue the tradition of making Gimson’s designs. The tradition continues today by Lawrence Neal who is Neville Neal’s son.

All are in superb condition with no repairs. The rush seats are in a lovely condition for their age. A really good set of dining chairs.
