An absolutely incredible 1900’s large Persian Luri rug

This rare tribal rug of generous size has been woven with wonderful hand spun wool on a wool foundation, giving it a super soft texture and a sheen difficult to capture.

Being very well drawn, the detailing that surrounds the three traditional bold medallions is just fascinating. Note all the beautiful figurines, from little people, to animals, plants, floral sprays and the most stunning cute little birds. The multi layered border is also of intricate, multiple design, with birds, tribal, and floral design.

The colours featured are rich and regal, with a lasting depth created from vegetable dyes. A truly stunning example of its type, this rare Luri should be the attraction of any room. This gorgeous antique Persian rug is in perfect condition and suitable for normal domestic use.

With all our handmade rugs, we recommend using a non-slip underlay, whether it will be placed on hard flooring or on wall to wall carpet, to stop the rug moving about. This can be purchased from us for £25 per linear meter (width 180cm)
