1950/60s impressionist oil painting on board most likely of Gloucester harbour as he painted several similar paintings of different Gloucester harbour views. Also several small charcoal drawings of same. £300/£500 mark. Measures 23 x 19 inches unframed and is in good condition. Similar paintings have sold at US auctions within the last 10 years between £3000/£7000. Last 3 years some now over $20,000. All presently making well above auction estimates sometimes double the estimate, as the auction houses catch up. Still bargains to be found though. For me, this is one of his better ones as I have seen a few. These quality 20th cent impressionist paintings are a sound investment. In particular, this artist, rising fast in American auction houses now making twice the prices of pre-2010 prices achieved.

Found This, almost identical artists painting position, overlooking Gloucester Harbour, as we suspected our painting to be as you will have read above already.
This particular painting below makes our painting a real bargain. at only £ 3500 I think the brown schooner in the background is even the very same boat as depicted in the painting we are offering.
