Frederick Richard Lee. R.A. Title: “Playing in the stream at the old mill”
Frederick Richard Lee started off in the services and fought one campaign in Holland. He then studied at the Royal Academy in London, where he exhibited from 1834. He also took part in exhibitions at the British Institution where he was awarded a prize of 50 pounds in 1829. Elected an Associate of the Royal Academy in 1834 and an Academician in 1838 stopped exhibiting after 1870 and spent the rest of his life travelling.
