Substantial oak Arts and Crafts slat back settle/hall bench with two squashed hearts which was a design symbol featured by Liberty and possibly retailed by them. Front square legs tapering to small round feet and curved arm rests. Newly upholstered in a good quality woven fabric in a peacock colour of green and blue. It has lived all of its life in a little church in Wales which was gifted in honour of one of the members with a small plaque fitted which states “rhodd mrs treherne eglwys penuel, pontypridd er hoffus gof am ei modryb mrs phillips danylan hydref 1906” translated means….gift of mrs treharne penuel church, pontypridd to the fond memory of her aunt mrs phillips danylan autumn 1906.
