An English Aesthetic movement mahogany side/hall chair by George Faulkner Armitage c1880. Well known for his well engineered workmanship, the chair has a finely carved dished top rail of overlapping quarter sunflowers, with turned side supports and raised on turned front legs having the original Cope & Collinson castors. Newly and fully upholstered to include new padding and webbing to meet with current fire regulations, and covered in a good quality William Morris “Voysey’ fabric. In excellent condition, sturdy, no loose joints, breaks or repairs.
