A terracotta chalice, or offering cup, decorated with bands of black and umber separated by areas of cross hatch design. The inside of the bowl has a faded black band of decoration around the rim.
Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization.
Circa 2500 to 1800 BC.
Diameter at rim 12.4 cms (4.8 ins).
Height 9 cms (3.5 ins).
NB. Unlike many of the Indus Valley pottery items usually offered for sale, the painting is original and not overpainted.
Condition: Complete and intact some areas of decoration a little worn.
