Mizpah literally means watch tower in Hebrew but the giving of Mizpah rings and tokens was a symbolic gesture of an emotional tie between two people.
This is a gorgeous 9ct gold antique Mizpah ring with beautiful embossed lettering and an Ivy leaf design. The ring has beautiful hallmarks for 1918 and the Birmingham Assay Office .
The colouring is a beautiful yellow with a slight rose hue to it, as with lots of gold jewellery of the Victorian period. This is a really beautiful and unique find!
“And [it was called] Mizpah (Watchtower); for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.” (Genesis, 31:49)
