Amish Hauling Corn’ an oil on canvas dated 1998 by Keith Bowen R.C.AKeith Bowen is an important 20th century Welsh artist. He was born in North Wales in 1950 and was already exhibiting at the Royal Academy, London by 1980. He is famous for his studies of rural and upland landscapes often featuring farmland, farm animals and countrymen at work.In 1992 he was elected to membership of the Royal Cambrian Academy at the invitation of Sir Kyffin Williams.He has twice received the Gold Medal for Fine Art at the Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales. He has designed two Royal Mail postage stamps.
He has written and illustrated a number of books including Among the Amish and The Snowdon Shepherd.Examples of his work are held in the collections of National Library of Wales, National Trust, National Postal Museum and Denbighshire County Council.
