A rare Regency bow fronted box base mirror, veneered throughout in partridge wood with a broad satinwood crossband within a narrow tulipwood banding – original glass
Note:Partridge wood was a West Indes Guyana timber usually found as a veneer in small work ( Caddies etc).
Fashion Note: at this date the vertical oval mirror frame reflecting 18thC hair styling had turned to a horizontal oval reflecting the looser informal style of ladies hair in the Regency period.
