Produced in the Shanxi province northern china around 1840 – 1860 in solid elm, with red and black lacquer. This has losses and great wear on the top and around the legs. The table has clean and elegant lines with simple shaped carving at the top of the leg. The table is sturdy strong and structurally sound.
These were used in china to read scrolls from a messenger and would now be great as a hallway console or a table in your lounge or dining area.
