A rare and attractive Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Plate of Indian interest, depicting a “View in the Fort, Madura”, { Sack, Plate 2-6 }, produced at the Herculaneum Pottery, Liverpool. The pattern is based on an aquatint from Thomas and William Daniell’s “Oriental Scenery”, published in London between 1795 and 1808, the source print for which may be inspected in Michael Sack’s invaluable work, “India on Transferware”, published in 2009.
