Circa 1890. A stylish five-piece polished steel fireside set, probably by’ Ernest and Norman Spittle’. The set consists of a lovely pair of fire dogs with extended tulip tops with a folded and curved steel which form three legs with simple padded feet. The fire set tools consist of a poker, tongs and shovel. The tops again with stylish curved steel, simple tapering stems, the shovel riveted to the upright by two polished steel rivets. The working poker with unusual, styled ends. The dogs are 40 cm high, and the longest iron is 64 cm long.
