Chakki Indian Coffee Table

Traditional Northern Indian Chakki grinder table. They were used in Indian havelis to grind grain into chakki atta flour to make chapatti or roti bread for the whole family. Each table has been crafted from solid teak that has been intricately hand carved. The beautiful carvings will differ from one chakki grinder to the next as these items were unique to each household and each family. This Chakki has had an Indian hardwood top added to make a coffee table with a split lift up top for a useful storage space underneath.
