A beautiful hand painted duo of 19th Century produced by Coalport in 1840, ‘Adelaide’ shape with ‘Blue Phoenix’ pattern. Cup & saucer which, although unmarked with the makers name known being made at the Coalport factory by its famous shape and pattern number 4/375.
Under glazed blue motifs of stylized phoenix, beige yellow ground and highlighted in gilt. The cups are of Adelaide shape – with pedestal and supported ring handle with thumb rest.
A fantastic duo in superb antique condition with no damage found.
