An English Aesthetic movement cuban mahogany side/hall chair by George Faulkner Armitage c1880. Well known for his well engineered workmanship, the chair has a finely carved dished top rail of overlapping quarter sunflowers, with turned and fluted side supports and raised on turned front legs having the original castors. Newly and fully upholstered to include new padding and webbing to meet with current fire regulations, and covered in a good quality William Morris “Voysey’ fabric. In very good condition, sturdy, no loose joints and no repairs.
