Description

A very well made gothic revival/arts & crafts medium oak settle/hall bench by Gillows & Co of Lancaster and London. Exceptional carving on five panels with foliate and flower designs and dated 1877. Lift up seat to reveal storage below along with the registration number and the Gillows & Co makers mark. The seat and backrest has been newly upholstered in a good quality William Morris “Bramble” fabric. In excellent condition, no damage or repairs. 152cmW x 94cmH x 45cmD (seat height 46cm)
