A very large, beautifully engraved medallion with a wonderful crisp image and information on the reverse.

TWO sets of hallmarks: English and International as it was marketed to collectors worldwide.

45mm diameter and weighs 40.2g.

Silver is a good investment at the moment as it is down from it’s all time high of £30/0z. The price will achieve and exceed that all time high in coming years so now is a good time to buy.

These medallions are in amazing condition as they were looked after by the original owner. Please note that some of the plastic capsules are discoloured due to the original owner being a smoker – there is no smell however as they have been ‘aired’ over several years.
The medallions themselves are in overall excellent condition – mostly UNTOUCHED since they were collected in the mid 1970’s.

A lot of these sets were melted during the meteoric rise in silver prices caused by the Hunt brothers in 1979/1980. We recently spoke to a dealer who remembers people queuing to sell their English sterling silver heirlooms sold to be melted down – this has even been mentioned several times on the Antiques Roadshow.
