A pair of solid oak bedside cabinets, having an open front with one fixed shelf, exposed tenons and stands on sleigh feet. There are numbers on the bottom of both cabinets (shown on image) numbers 26 and 51, and I believe them to be made by the students at Loughborough College late 1930’s, intended to allow the students to demonstrate their cabinetmaking skills under the tutorage of Peter Waals and Ernest Barnsley. The items were then used in the student accommodation at Hazlerigg Hall. Both are in good used condition.
