18th c marquetry automaton longcase clock. Very good all-round condition. With automaton, the works are original, although the ship is somewhat more recent. Above brass and silvered dial with raised spandrels. 8 day works including date dial and in full working order. A rare clock complete and with nice original patina. Door lock, key and brass escutcheon are later additions, along with the tin plate painted ship. Â Tall and thin in stature superbly proportioned. Circa; 1770s
