A Large oil painting by Josiah Clinton Jones RCA. Born in Wednesdaybury Staffordshire in 1848, later studied at the Liverpool School of Art and lived in Liverpool before moving to Conway. Josiah Clinton Jones painted many local scenes of the Welsh landscape such as The Vale of Conway, Tal-Y-Bont, Llandedr, Llanderis and in Snowdonia.
Josiah Clinton Jones was elected to the Royal Cambrian Academy in 1892 having exhibited a significant 258 times during his career. He also exhibited further afield at the Wlaker Art Gallery in Liverpool and in London at the Royal Academy and The Royal Institute of oil painters.
