Antique Solid Silver
LARGE
RARE VESTA CASE
SIRUS PATENT

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1899
with the maker`s mark – H & A, for Horton
& Allday, Warstone Lane, Birmingham.
——
An excellent, large vesta case.
But – instead of a ribbed silver striker, this
one has what appears to be a piece of 
carborundum let into the base of the vesta.
The ends are incised – SIRUS & PATENT
See picture 2.

Decorated all over with scrolling foliage.
A vacant, circular cartouche – front centre.
Very clean interior, retaining a lot of the
original gilding.
Perfect alignment
Opens and closes with a snap.

SUPERB QUALITY – SUPERB CONDITION
NO FAULTS

Measurements:- 55 x 41 x 11 millimetres.
                           2.17 x 1.61 x 0.43 inches.
