This is a very rare piece of local transport history!
I am sure you remember seeing the bus driver looking up while sitting in his seat, reach up and wind a crank that would change the destination displayed at the front of the bus.
This is the only Bradford bus blind that I have come across in over thirty years of collecting antiques! I have come across single destinations that have been cut from one of these – a real shame that anyone would do that!
At the back of this bus blind, each destination is stencilled so the bus driver will know what is being displayed at the front of the bus.
This piece has been attached to a piece of wood so that it can be hung up.
However, this wood piece can easily be removed and this would look amazing in a frame.
It measures 43 inches in height and 37 inches across.
There are some minor marks, blemishes and stains as shown but this is to be expected for a working piece that is over 50 years old.
Please note UK postage is included in the price.
