Very rare solid silver Double Rupee 215 years old

An extremely rare and important coin – really they were not coins, they were more like status symbols because they were only issued to senior courtiers and dignitaries in the Royal Household.

This coin weighs a very heavy 22.9g with a diameter of 27mm

Double Rupees were only produced in really small amounts between 100-200 pieces in 1803/1804.

Shah Shuja al Mulk owned the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond which he gave to Sher-e-Punjab Ranjit Singh in 1814 in exchange for military protection.

This rare double rupee is in very desirable condition with good original lustre.

A Double Rupee from the same year but with flaws on both sides sold at the CNG 2014 Auction for $1600+20% fees (makes almost $2,000).
