Wm Bartlett & Son Set Of 12 Dining Chairs SAI3412

Superb set of 12 Victorian dining chairs with solid mahogany frames stamped by maker Wm Bartlett & Son. The backrests all have a horizontal centre rail with a concave top which leads down to splay legs. The seats are covered in a teal fabric with fleur- de- lis design and sits on 2 beautifully turned legs. The fabric is clean with no rips or wear with an exception to one chair which has a small ink mark (shown in photo). These chairs have been through a restoration workshop in the last 20 years so are solid and in very serviceable condition. Like all antique furniture there are some imperfections in line with age and use however they are a solid set with wonderful colouring and patina ready for every day use. These are well crafted chairs that provide both style & function to be welcomed around any table.

These chairs all have a military stamp and a label with the name Major P Taggart so were probably made for a military / officers mess.
